MOVIE NIGHT!

On Wednesday, October 4th at 6:30pm, HeLa will be hosting a screening of HBO’s The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks in the commons!

We believe that it is important for our staff and students to be able to understand and articulate the story of Henrietta and her family as well as the reasons why this story is significant to the world. While the film does not show the entire story, it is fairly in-line with Rebecca Skloot’s bestseller, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, as it shows the journey of Skloot and Henrietta’s daughter, Deborah, as they find more information on the cells and the Lacks family history. Physical posters will be displayed this week, but please forward this email to friends (in an out of the district) and family you would like to invite to this free screening.

The required permission slip is attached. I will also have hard copies for students available at the front office starting Wednesday.

Share the joy
